ZACHARY ROMBAKIS

(USA – EUA)

ZACHARY ROMBAKIS - In the pre-internet days, where I grew up, there was very little culture in terms of theatre, museums or galleries, but we did have cinema, from big Hollywood productions to art cinema, as well as avant-garde films from the then Eastern Bloc.

At university, I studied mainly literature and philosophy, and worked for a while as a videographer for a director who produced documentaries, which was a great learning experience.

Today, I'm grateful to be able to spend a lot of time producing experimental videos that are far from the conformity of traditional cinema. I humbly try to make films that are not trapped in the anachronistic paradigm of conventional cinema and that, I hope, convey a perspective that reflects the huma condition.
