RAFAEL TIMONER - I've been working on visual arts, drawing, painting, sculpture, photography and video installations, under a minimalist and conceptual style, and for more than 30 years. With numerous exhibitions, individual and collective, in Spain and in many other countries.

My art works are present in numerous public and private art collections, with some sculptures installed in public spaces in Spain.

Since 2012, I'm working and experimenting with sound, at first with software and virtual synthesizers and plugins, later with semi-modular, and finally discovering the universe of eurorack and modular synthesis.

After three years of experimentation, learning, and selection, I have set up my own system based on eurorack modules.

My system is based on Serge Eurorack R*S, Catalyst Audio Bucha Serie 100, Sputnik Modular and Verbos Electronics, whose versatility allows me to develop and create my new sonic proposals.

Actually experimenting in sound and video synthesis.

SYNOPSIS:

BUCHLA 100X100 SECONDS: An experimental AV work made with modular systems, both audio and video signals, processing the sound and connected to the video inputs to modulate the image moving across the time, taking the bandsides of the audio to animate different parameters of the visuals. The three white bands represents the left, right and middle sides of the sterero image processed with different analogue techniques.

SYNOPSIS:

BUCHLA 100 & VA: Is another part of the series developed with the same system, a vintage modular systhesizer, a clone of the iconic Buchla100 from the early 60's. The original sound is manipulated to create new and moderns timbres based on the buchla100 but taken to another dimension with the help of other actual modules installed together. The same technique and concepts of the first AV are used also here. The concepts of time and space are always present on my works, before with other techniques and medias as sculpture, peinture, and now with audio and video, from an experimental approach, focused on the design and manipulation of the different signals to compose the final result.
