FRANZ ROSATI

(Italy - Itália)

FRANZ ROSATI - creates audiovisual concerts, electronic music, video installations, software art and printed artworks.

The balance between visuals, sounds and music and the transformation of environmental data into digital organic scenarios represent the core of his expressive research.

Projects like Latentscape and Distantia are grounded into narrative structures where cinematic events and soundscapes creates a new cartography or ever-shifting imaginary worlds presented as Audiovisual Concerts as well as Contemplative Video Installations.

Vast digital landscapes, shapeshifting Pointclouds, AI generated sequences, or disrupting wire-frame bodies are crafted using intricate workflows that put together aural and visual domain, open data, programming languages, scientific software, artificial intelligence, and video game engines.

When presented as Audiovisual Concert, sound and visuals are crafted to emphasize the narrative consistency. This is enriched by real-time interventions that add new and unpredictable elements to each performance, thanks to the interaction between sounds, images, and generative procedures.

The same visual and auditory elements take the form of digital artworks designed for contemplative engagement, intended for large screens, LED walls, art galleries, and audiovisual installations.

Sound and music hold a central role in every work, representing the result of a profound process of material selection and transfiguration of acoustic sources. Traditional or unusual acoustic sources, environmental field recordings, or samples from found materials are the elements blended together into deeply emotive music, rich of tense crescendos and abrupt interruptions, heavy anvil sounding percussions, rhythmic noise patterns, and a cinematic sound design that maintains a constant balance between digital and organic shape.

These projects have been presented at several important international festival and contexts such as ACT Asian Culture Center, Sonar Barcelona, Videocittà, Les Bains Numerique, ADAF, Ohm Berlin, RomaEuropa Festival, and are featured on major digital art platforms such as Sedition, Artpoint, NIIO, ReasonedArt, FRM.

Dr. Plague:   The audio segment in the second section cleverly reinterprets Embryoroom's

SYNOPSIS:

SYSTEMIC LOGIC PSYCHIC WEAPONIZATION: is a variant from HYLETICS Project, tailored explicitly for Embryogallery's exhibition. Incorporating AI and procedural language models, the audiovisual composition weaves intricate textual layers into its narrative, enhancing the depth and complexity of the presentation. Immersed within the video is a diaphanous virtual landscape. The first part delves into a violent and shattering digital domain characterized by a tumultuous and relentless sequence of percussive sounds and noises. Conversely, the second part shift into a quiet and introspective space portraying a diaphanous and ethereal landscape fostering a sense of stillness. The audio segment in the second section cleverly reinterprets Embryoroom's "Dr. Plague" track, employing advanced ambisonic spatialization techniques. The Exhibition curated by the artist and musician Edward Paul Quist to present American Cannibalism and Ravaged by the Sun projects is also a collection of sounds and visual artoworks by several artists including remixes and reworks.

SYNOPSIS:

HYLETICS 2526: Hyletics serie are audiovisual artworks organised in "sequenze", focused on the representation and exploration of material surfaces which may resemble terraforming, minerals or organic and artificial fabrics, formed through the aggregation of emotional data. The aesthetics is inspired by the CGI era when photorealism was remarkable but still far from the current results, forcing our perception to imagine reality, nature, life, hidden among streams of pixels. Surfaces and textures are generated by mixing procedural generation techniques with images and data coming from geographic information systems as well as daily life footage.
