Devido ao trabalho de alta qualidade nas curadorias que tem realizado o Diretor e Curador Dr. Hernando Urrutia no âmbito da arte digital, especificamente na vídeo arte em IMAGE PLAY ►International Video Art Festival, que começo a ter notoriedade no âmbito internacional em diferentes grupos de cinema experimental e vídeo arte, como uma repercussão muito forte diante de conceituados artistas da vídeo arte e a difusão da sua programação em diferentes canais e plataformas internacionais.

No âmbito do intercambio cultural internacional o Diretor e Curador do IMAGE PLAY ►International Video Art Festival Dr. Hernando Urrutia foi Convidado Especial Internacional é nomeado Membro do Comité Científico e Curador para OVER THE REAL Festival Internazionale di Videoarte - VI Edition (2021) ITÁLIA, pelo Diretor Artístico Principal do OVER THE REAL Festival Internazionale di Videoarte e Presidente da Associazione Culturale VAP, Dr. Maurizio Marco Tozzi, em Lucca, Toscana - Itália, no mês de outubro de 2021, como parte das colaborações e intercâmbios culturais para a difusão da arte contemporânea.

Apresentando o Curador Hernando Urrutia uma proposta de curadoria com uma seleção de obras no total de duração de 60 minutos aproximadamente, com obras apresentadas nas Edições do IMAGE PLAY ►International Video Art Festival nas suas Edições I e II, apresentadas em Funchal no 2019 e 2020.

A VI Edição do "Over The Real International Videoart Festival" terá lugar em Lucca entre o final de Setembro e as primeiras semanas de Outubro (data a definir) a apresentar-se na Fondazione Ragghianti, no Palazzo delle Esposizioni e noutros espaços institucionais e em formato on-line.

No âmbito do intercambio cultural internacional o Diretor e Curador do IMAGE PLAY ►International Video Art Festival Dr. Hernando Urrutia foi convidado pelo Curador Geral David Quiles Guilló a participar com um projeto como Curador e Artista para a 5th Edition of the Wrong Biennale - 2021/2022.

Apresentando o Curador Dr. Hernando Urrutia uma proposta de curadoria com o projeto selecionado: TRANSGRESSION art + technology (TRANSGRESSÃO arte + tecnologia) é um pavilhão da "5th Edition of the Wrong Biennale" Espanha, que tive uma exhibição de 10 artistas multidisciplinares de meios audiovisuais experimentais, que serão exibidos on-line a partir do seu próprio espaço on-line (Portugal) e dos canais "thewrong.tv" e "180.thewrong.tv" (Portugal), que tive 24 horas de emissão televisiva para mostrar conceitos e obras de arte como uma experiência de televisão linear. Sob a Curadoria de Hernando Urrutia e da Direção Geral de David Quiles Guilló.

Pela internacionalização do bom trabalho realizado na Curadoria de IMAGE PLAY e no âmbito do intercambio cultural internacional o Diretor e Curador do IMAGE PLAY ►International Video Art Festival Dr. Hernando Urrutia, foi convidado pelos Diretores ArtísticosAnacleto Vitolo e Francesco Giannico da organização "Collettivo Zeugma" para ser Membro do Comité de Seleção, como Júri de Seleção e Premiação da Convocatória Aberta da II Edição do LANDSCAPE Interação | Narração de Som | Narração de Vídeo, no 2022, em Itália. Nesta segunda edição tornou-se internacional o projeto, pelo qual requereu não só ter um painel de júris nacionais de Itália, como internacionais, especialistas e peritos na curadoria internacional de narrativas sonoras e visuais.

Pelo trabalho desenvolvido na curadoria em Portugal, na área das curtas experimentais e da vídeo arte é convidado a ser membro da equipa do projeto "Memórias do Futuro: Inovação Midiática Multimodal" para o Cluster CINEX - Brasil, como Curador e realizador para a Mostra de Curtas Experimentais Portugueses no projeto que propõe: META-MORFO Mostra Experimental de Tecnologia Audiovisual - Portugal 2022-2023. Projeto aprovado pelo CNPq Universal 2022 com nota 9,58, (sobre 10) São Paulo e Curitiba - Brasil.

Pelo trabalho desenvolvido na curadoria em Portugal, na área da vídeo arte é convidado a ser Curador permanente na Mostra de Vídeo Arte na Fronteira, na sessão de Portugal, para a Feira de Arte Contemporânea Transfronteiriça (Espanha - Portugal) 2023-2025, pelo presidente da Fundação Olintia D. Pablo Sycet Torres, assinando um protocolo de colaboração por 3 anos prorrogável com a Fundação "Olintia" de Espanha. Organizadora do evento "Feria Transfronteriza de Arte Contemporáneo" (Espanha - Portugal).

For the work developed in curatorship in Portugal, in the area of experimental short films and video art he is invited to be a member of the team of the project "Memories of the Future: Multimodal Midiatic Innovation" for the CINEX Cluster - Brazil, as Curator and Artist/Director for the Portuguese Experimental Short Films Exhibition in the project that proposes: META-MORFO Experimental Exhibition of Audiovisual Technology - Portugal 2022-2023. Project approved by CNPq Universal 2022 with score 9,58, (about 10) São Paulo and Curitiba - Brazil.

Apresentando o Curador Dr. Hernando Urrutia uma proposta de curadoria com o projeto selecionado: META-MORPHOSIS digital que é um pavilhão da "6th Edition of the Wrong Biennale" Espanha, que tem uma exibição de 10 artistas multidisciplinares de meios audiovisuais experimentais, que serão exibidos on-line a partir do seu próprio espaço on-line (Portugal) e dos canais "thewrong.tv" e "180.thewrong.tv" (Portugal), que tive 24 horas de emissão televisiva para mostrar conceitos e obras de arte como uma experiência de televisão linear. For the work developed in IMAGE PLAY and in the scope of the international cultural exchange, the Director and Curator of IMAGE PLAY ►International Video Art Festival PhD. Hernando Urrutia was invited by the General Curator David Quiles Guilló to participate with a project as Curator and Artist for the 6th Edition of the Wrong Biennale - 2023/2024.

Presenting Curator PhD. Hernando Urrutia a curatorial proposal with the selected project: META-MORPHOSIS digital is a pavilion of the "6th Edition of the Wrong Biennale" Spain, which had an exhibition of 10 multidisciplinary artists of experimental audiovisual media, which will be exhibited online from their own online space (Portugal) and the channels "thewrong.tv" and "180.thewrong.tv" (Portugal), which had 24 hours of television broadcasting to show concepts and artworks as a linear television experience. Curated by Hernando Urrutia and directed by David Quiles Guilló.

Pablo Sycet Torres. Presenting a special selection from both countries, representing Portugal and Spain since IMAGE PLAY ► International Video Art Festival 6-7-8-9/2/2024.

REFLEXIONS THROUGH GENERATIVE NARRATIVES

This cross-border video art exhibition explores the sense of belonging and appropriation, not only in terms of what we call homeland and its opposite, but also in terms of whether or not to assume an identity and control border areas, which throughout history has led to armed conflicts and reflections on the connotations they evoke.

The cross-border video art exhibition not only presents approaches to identity and the sense of belonging, as well as border issues and border spaces through historical moments inside and outside Spain and Portugal, but also reflects on their conflicts, allowing us to reflect on related elements, from how to assume the meaning of homeland to how to view the barbarism that is sometimes assumed as patriotism, taking it to the extreme of war.

We see how the artist not only takes on the narratives from the work he directs in the narrative, but also how he redirects the possibilities in the use of narratives that come from the generative, from the process of creation and transformation from generative art, through processes of algorithmic generation interaction that visually transform the narrative of homeland and its play on words, as well as generative artificial intelligence that takes on or understands the barbarity of war, generating a diversity of visual narratives.

The works present narratives that expose the new expressive forms of new media, from the generative field, one from the Generative Algorithmic system and the other from generative AI, leading us to new expressions of contemporary audiovisuality, which bring with them new paradigms between the real and the artificial in creation, opening paths to the avant-garde.

Nesta segunda edição tornou-se internacional o projeto, pelo qual requereu não só ter um painel de júris nacionais de Itália, como internacionais, especialistas e peritos na curadoria internacional de narrativas sonoras e visuais.

For the internationalization of the good work done in the Curatorship of IMAGE PLAY and in the framework of the international cultural exchange the Director and Curator of IMAGE PLAY ►International Video Art Festival PhD. Hernando Urrutia, was invited by the Artistic Directors Anacleto Vitolo and Francesco Giannico of the organization "Collettivo Zeugma" to be Member of the Selection Committee, as Selection and Award Jury of the Open Call for the III Edition of LANDSCAPE Interaction | Sound Narration | Video Narration, at 2023, in Salerno - Italy. In this second edition the project became international, for which it required not only having a panel of national juries from Italy, but also international ones, specialists and experts in the international curation of sound and visual narratives.

Hernando Urrutia é convidado como curador da Mostra de Vídeo Arte na Fronteira, da Feira de Arte Contemporânea Transfronteiriça (Espanha - Portugal) 07 de fevereiro de 2025, às 16h, pelo pelo presidente da Fundação Olintia D. Pablo Sycet Torres. Apresentando uma seleção especial dos dois países, como representantes de Portugal e de Espanha desde IMAGE PLAY ► International Video Art Festival 6-7-8-9/2/2025.

REFLEXÕES MEDIANTE NARRATIVAS GENERATIVAS

Nesta exposição de vídeo arte transfronteiriça, expõe-se o sentido de pertença e apropriação, não só como sentido do que chamamos pátria e o seu oposto, mas também como sentido de assumir ou não uma identidade e o controlo dos espaços geográficos fronteiriços, o que tem provocado ao longo da história conflitos bélicos e reflexões sobre as conotações que nos remetem.

A exposição de vídeo arte transfronteiriça não só expõe pontos de abordagem à identidade e sentimento de pertença e aos problemas fronteiriços e espaços fronteiriços mediante momentos históricos dentro e fora de Espanha e Portugal, como também reflecte os seus conflitos, permitindo-nos refletir sobre elementos relacionados, desde como assumir o sentido de pátria, até como ver a barbárie que por vezes é assumida como patriotismo, levando-a ao extremo máximo da guerra. 

Vemos como não só o artista assume as narrativas a partir da obra que direciona na narrativa, mas também como redireciona as possibilidades no uso de narrativas que vêm do generativo, do processo de criação e transformação a partir da arte generativa, por meio de processos de interação de geração algorítmica que transformam visualmente a narrativa de pátria e o seu jogo de palavras, assim como a inteligência artificial generativa que assume ou entende a barbárie da guerra, gerando uma diversidade de narrativas visuais.

As obras apresentam narrativas que expõem as novas formas expressivas dos novos média, a partir do campo generativo, uma do sistema Gerativo Algorítmico e outra da IA generativa, conduzindo-nos a novas expressões da contemporaneidade audiovisual, que trazem consigo novos paradigmas entre o real e o artificial na criação, abrindo caminhos para a vanguarda.

For his work as a curator in Portugal in the field of video art, Hernando Urrutia has been invited to be the permanent curator of the Video Art Exhibition at the Border, in the Portugal and Spain section, for the Cross-Border Contemporary Art Fair (Spain - Portugal) 2024-2026.

Hernando Urrutia is invited as curator of the Video Art Exhibition at the Border, at the Cross-Border Contemporary Art Fair (Spain - Portugal) on 7 February 2025, at 4 pm, by the president of the Olintia Foundation, D. Pablo Sycet Torres. Presenting a special selection from both countries, representing Portugal and Spain since IMAGE PLAY ► International Video Art Festival 6-7-8-9/2/2025.

REFLEXIONS THROUGH GENERATIVE NARRATIVES

This cross-border video art exhibition explores the sense of belonging and appropriation, not only in terms of what we call homeland and its opposite, but also in terms of whether or not to assume an identity and control border areas, which throughout history has led to armed conflicts and reflections on the connotations they evoke.

The cross-border video art exhibition not only presents approaches to identity and the sense of belonging, as well as border issues and border spaces through historical moments inside and outside Spain and Portugal, but also reflects on their conflicts, allowing us to reflect on related elements, from how to assume the meaning of homeland to how to view the barbarism that is sometimes assumed as patriotism, taking it to the extreme of war.

We see how the artist not only takes on the narratives from the work he directs in the narrative, but also how he redirects the possibilities in the use of narratives that come from the generative, from the process of creation and transformation from generative art, through processes of algorithmic generation interaction that visually transform the narrative of homeland and its play on words, as well as generative artificial intelligence that takes on or understands the barbarity of war, generating a diversity of visual narratives.

The works present narratives that expose the new expressive forms of new media, from the generative field, one from the Generative Algorithmic system and the other from generative AI, leading us to new expressions of contemporary audiovisuality, which bring with them new paradigms between the real and the artificial in creation, opening paths to the avant-garde.

Pela internacionalização do bom trabalho realizado na Curadoria de IMAGE PLAY e no âmbito do intercambio cultural internacional o Diretor e Curador do IMAGE PLAY ►International Video Art Festival Dr. Hernando Urrutia, foi convidado pelos Diretores Artísticos Anacleto Vitolo e Francesco Giannico da organização "Collettivo Zeugma" para ser Membro do Comité de Seleção, como Júri de Seleção e Premiação da Convocatória Aberta da IV Edição do LANDSCAPE | DEATH AND REBIRTH no 2024, em Salerno - Itália. Nesta segunda edição tornou-se internacional o projeto, pelo qual requereu não só ter um painel de júris nacionais de Itália, como internacionais, especialistas e peritos na curadoria internacional de narrativas sonoras e visuais.

For the internationalization of the good work done in the Curatorship of IMAGE PLAY and in the framework of the international cultural exchange the Director and Curator of IMAGE PLAY ►International Video Art Festival PhD. Hernando Urrutia, was invited by the Artistic Directors Anacleto Vitolo and Francesco Giannico of the organization "Collettivo Zeugma" to be Member of the Selection Committee, as Selection and Award Jury of the Open Call for the IV Edition of LANDSCAPE  | DEATH AND REBIRTH, at 2024, in Salerno - Italy. In this second edition the project became international, for which it required not only having a panel of national juries from Italy, but also international ones, specialists and experts in the international curation of sound and visual narratives.

DIGITAL TRANSPOSITION (TRANSPOSIÇÃO DIGITAL) is an exhibition that presents a series of experimental audiovisual works based on the process and cycles of algorithmic permutation of digital scientific/technological thought, which is transformed into knowledge as an object of expansion of thought, from digital defragmentation in the change of technological innovation to the new narrative codes of the avant-garde.

DIGITAL TRANSPOSITION (TRANSPOSIÇÃO DIGITAL) presents experimental audiovisual works that always seek to develop the formal connection between art and technology, based on the vision of each of the different selected artists, through multiple processes of language error or new technological processes, the product of different digital and analogue devices that give us transformed images, as well as new processes for generating images and sounds.

(1 de novembro de 2025 até 31 de março de 2026)

Apresentando o Curador Dr. Hernando Urrutia uma proposta de curadoria com o projeto selecionado: META-MORPHOSIS digital AI que é um pavilhão da "7th Edition of the Wrong Biennale" Espanha, que tem uma exibição de 10 artistas multidisciplinares de meios audiovisuais experimentais, que serão exibidos on-line a partir do seu próprio espaço on-line (Portugal) e dos canais "thewrong.tv" e "180.thewrong.tv" (Portugal), que têm 24 horas de emissão televisiva para mostrar conceitos e obras de arte como uma experiência de televisão linear. For the work developed in IMAGE PLAY and in the scope of the international cultural exchange, the Director and Curator of IMAGE PLAY ►International Video Art Festival PhD. Hernando Urrutia was invited by the General Curator David Quiles Guilló to participate with a project as Curator and Artist for the 6th Edition of the Wrong Biennale - 2025/2026.(November 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026)

Presenting Curator PhD. Hernando Urrutia a curatorial proposal with the selected project: META-MORPHOSIS digital AI  is a pavilion of the "6th Edition of the Wrong Biennale" Spain, which had an exhibition of 10 multidisciplinary artists of experimental audiovisual media, which will be exhibited online from their own online space (Portugal) and the channels "thewrong.tv" and "180.thewrong.tv" (Portugal), which had 24 hours of television broadcasting to show concepts and artworks as a linear television experience. Curated by Hernando Urrutia and directed by David Quiles Guilló.
